Hello OR-Path readers,
What did the Operations Research job market actually demand in Q3 2026?
This edition examines 114 unique job descriptions across North America, Asia, Europe, Latin America, Oceania and Africa, plus multi-region or unspecified locations. The purpose is to look beyond job titles and understand the skills, work arrangements and decision problems recorded in OR-Pathβs curated sample.
The sample covers JulyβSeptember 2026, with a cutoff of September 30. The source records 61 opportunities as published samples and 53 additional opportunities prepared for Premium editions assigned to this quarter. Premium #1 and #2 have since been published; the workbook still retains preparation statuses for those additional records. Repeated appearances count once, and opportunities assigned to a different quarter are excluded.
This is a curated sample, not a census of all OR hiring. Competency and degree fields are available for 100 of the 114 records; 14 are unknown. Shares below use all 114 opportunities as the denominator, so missing data is not treated as an explicit absence.
Letβs take a closer look.
