Welcome back to OR-Path!

As 2025 comes to an end, I just wanted to say: thank you for being here.

This year marked the very beginning of OR-Path. What started as a simple idea β€” sharing Operations Research roles and career insights in a more practical, grounded way β€” slowly turned into a living, growing space shaped by the people reading it.

Before we move into 2026, I thought it would be nice to pause for a moment and look back at what this first year actually looked like.

πŸ“Š A quick look at OR-Path in 2025

Over the course of the year, OR-Path shared:

  • 120+ Operations Research & Optimization roles

  • From 80+ different companies

  • Spanning 25+ countries

These roles came from a wide mix of contexts:

  • Industry, consulting, and big tech

  • Energy, logistics, retail, aviation, and more

  • Individual contributor roles, leadership positions, and research-oriented teams

  • On-site, hybrid, and truly global remote opportunities

Geographically, the market showed up again and again in:

  • Brazil and Latin America

  • North America

  • Europe

  • India and APAC

  • Fully remote, borderless teams

What stood out most wasn’t just the number of roles β€” it was how diverse and alive the OR market really is once you start looking closely.

πŸ’‘ A few things this year reinforced

Some patterns became very clear:

  • Operations Research is often hidden behind other titles β€” but the work is there.

  • Strong modeling skills matter, but the ability to turn models into decisions matters even more.

  • OR professionals are increasingly expected to work close to business, engineering, and product teams.

  • Remote work expanded access, but expectations around ownership and impact also grew.

These signals are shaping how OR-Path thinks about content going forward.

Looking ahead to 2026

In 2026, OR-Path will keep doing what it was created to do:

  • Curate roles that actually matter

  • Share honest insights about OR careers in practice

  • Help make the market a little easier to understand and navigate

No hype. No inflated promises. Just clarity.

Thanks again for being part of this first year.
Wishing you a great start to 2026.
